Spider Man

From a collection titled ‘Secret Life of Heroes‘ you are bound to be expecting something interesting and thats what you get.

Greg Guillemin’s collection is quite bold and lets just say that Spiderman brushing his teeth is one of the milder ones.

Nevertheless, I absolutely love the humour and you know what, they actually make you think thoughts like ‘does Batman like grapes’. Maybe that’s just me! They also have a touch of Lichtenstein about them which is always a winner in my world.

I discovered Marta Sabate’s work in Etsy and I am sold! I love quirky jewellery in funky colours and this ticks all my boxes for something unusual. Great as a gift or when I decide to treat myself. Emerald: Colour of the year

“Lively. Radiant. Lush… A color of elegance and beauty
that enhances our sense of well-being, balance and harmony.”

Every year Pantone declare a colour of the year and this year it is Emerald Green. The specific green is referenced as PANTONE 17-5641 Emerald.

Green comes in so many shades and really does have a wide spectrum of shades and hues. My favourite is actually a deep Forest Green and you can’t go wrong with Lime Green!

Yinka Shonibare- FABRIC–ATION at Yorkshire Sculpture Park

When:  2 March – 1 September 2013

Where: Underground Gallery, Chapel, YSP Centre and open air

I’ve always been intrigued by the work of Yinka Shonibare though I am yet to see it in person. If you are in the Yorkshire area you can get to see for yourself (and tell me all about it).

There is an ongoing showing of his works at the Yorkshire Sculpture Park until September, 2013. FABRIC-ATION is billed to feature over 30 works by the artist, including sculpture, film, photography and painting, many of which are shown in the UK for the first time. It gets more interesting! The works are said to include flying machines, aliens, toy paintings, food fairies,  revolutionary children, spacemen and ballerinas.

If that combination doesn’t convince you, I don’t know what will!

Urban Knit Blazer in Indigo Batik- How to wear it

African print jackets are a great way to add that special touch to casual or simple outfit.

Over on Polyvore, I have started putting together ‘looks’ to show ways you can rock your Urbanknit swag. Starting with the Indigo Batik Blazer which is a 3/4 sleeved cropped jacket. What better than mixing blue, white and red?
