Red and Grey Aso Oke Cushion

A striking dark red cushion made in a traditional woven strip textile from Nigeria, West Africa. The cushion is made out of Aso-oke.

Aso Oke (pronounced ah-SHOW-kay) is a loom-woven textile. It is thick fabric and similar in texture to soft canvas or denim, making it very durable. It is hand-woven in narrow strips and these finished strips are usually sewn together to make clothing. This type of clothing would traditionally be worn during special occasions like weddings, festivals, coronations and so on. It is therefore a pretty special fabric.

This listing is for one cushion. It is a square cushion 18 x 18 inches (45 x 45 cm). These cushions look beautiful in pairs or as a collection. You can also order the cushion with or without the cushion pad. If you choose to order with a cushion pad, you will receive a white microfibre pad.
