    A friend sent me a link to this Fela track. I have never heard it before and the ‘sound’ is very different to what is now known as the Fela sound, the sounds of Afrobeat. Nevertheless, I really love this track.

    On Thursday 20th September, get the first taste of latest addition of cool new music to the London scene. With a blend of Hip-Hop, Afro Beat and beautiful lyrics, Native Sun perform live for one night only at London’s hottest music venue Bedroom Bar Shoreditch.

    Performing tracks from their debut album Indigenous Sounds, Native Sun will also be supported by: Amen Noir, Bumi Thomas, Global Faction, Kat Francois and Restless Beings.



    Native Sun is a London based duo consisting of bilingual rapperMohammed Yahya, born in Mozambique, South East Africa andsinger-song writer Sarina Leah born in London with Caribbean roots. Joining forces in 2010 Native Sun was born fusing Hip Hop andAfrican rhythms with the aim of promoting a positive message of universal peace, equality, social justice and environmental change.

    Both artists over the years have received a great deal of publicity through collaborations on a variety of compilation CDs, albums, international Tours across Europe, U.S. and Africa. They have also featured on a wide range of publications as well as TV appearances from UK based TV Channels such as BBC and ITV to Channels across Europe. Now together, Native Sun’s sweet melodies fuse addictive headbouncing Hip Hop undertones, conscious bilingual lyrics andcatchy hooks perfect for a climate in need of an uplifting message.
